2019/2020 WIDE ANGLE PROJECT NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!
CLICK HERE TO APPLY. APPLICATIONS DUE SEPTEMBER 10, 2019.

The Wide Angle Project is an ongoing filmmaking lab designed to boost diversity and inclusion in the production industry, maximize professional opportunities for participants, and create connections between production professionals from all backgrounds.  Launched by Indie Grants with the South Carolina Film Commission and Trident Technical College, Wide Angle is the only one of its kind — a state-supported program to assist underrepresented filmmakers through practical training, education and mentorship, while also building a bridge through film between all viewpoints. The Wide Angle.

Led by noted film producer Effie Brown, the comprehensive program consisted of a series of training and other sessions from October 2019 to May 2020 for registered participants, exploring key elements of the industry, including financing, pitching, legal, logistics, agents, DIY distribution, and more.  Giving South Carolina filmmakers and other production professionals the tools to succeed in the industry and a pragmatic understanding of the standards and professionalism necessary for that to occur.

Applications for the 2019/2020 lab are due Sept. 10, 2019. Click here to apply. Production professionals of all backgrounds, beliefs, orientations and identifications are encouraged to apply. The lab will be structured to include as many diverse viewpoints as possible. Everyone is welcome.

Wide Angle is free for South Carolina residents. The program is tailored for South Carolina filmmakers and other production professionals creating independent film work and other content, and are ready to take their talent and work to an international level.
