2019/20 INDIE GRANTS SHORT FILM PROJECTS ANNOUNCED

Columbia, SC -- The South Carolina Film Commission has announced the short films selected for its 2019/2020 Indie Grants program.

The Indie Grants is the only one of its kind in the nation, using short films for professional development for South Carolina filmmakers and other creative industries, job training for Trident Technical College film students, and as international exposure for the state’s film industry.

The projects are:

THE OBSCURE CHARM OF LOSS
Jacob Cleveland and Justin Urban
Charleston, SC
A dark comedy about a family’s inability to cope with the death of their mother – and the difficulty of finding a place to eat dinner.

THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH
Gunner Willis
Greenville, SC
A middle-aged widow is blackmailed by her dead husband.

Each Indie Grants project will employ Trident Technical College film students in its production, giving the students hands-on training under the filmmakers and other production professionals, and acting as a bridge to full-time professional employment. Click here to lean more about INDIE GRANTS.
